Mel would like to share some of his favorite
links right here ... and both Mel and DreamCraft
welcome cross-linking. If you'd like to link to
us, and have us link back, contact us,
let's surf each other's sites, and exchange banners. We
have a good selection of banners right here,
and new ones are being designed!
The World according to Mel
Okay, they talked me into it. A bog. This is the second shot I've had at 'blogging,' and the
first withered and died because I didn't think I had anything useful to say. This time around,
it's different! So...
... this is a very cool site, owned and operated by very nice folks. Their motto says it all:
"Imagine a world with no hate, prejudice, separatism. Where ALL people are just people.
And ALL families are equal in love, protection & rights. What A Wonderful World it would be!"
MK WING at Stonewall
...I have my own wing here. Two books are covered at this time, and it'll be four v. soon. The
parent site (see above) is a great place to spend an afternoon.
JPL
...very cool stuff, and also very real: The Jet Propulsion Laboratory itself. NO matter where
we go in future, this is where the journey began ... and it's well worth a look. They've
revamped it into a v. visually appealing site, for anyone into space-tech.
LADY MOLUK AND CERISAYE'S GAY BOOK AND FILM REVIEWS
...Wonderful reviews here of a whole raft of books including some by MK! In fact, there's
so many books on review, you could be here for a week, figuring out what to buy next. A lot of
the reviewed titles are on my own bookshelf, incidentally ...

...keep current with cutting-edge research. Ever wondered how much (or little)
of a kite I'm flying with some of the tech in the novels? Find out here.

...an online magazine with gay themes and 'slants' on current affairs. Good site,
fast-loading and usually v. interesting.
ARICIA'S JARRAT AND STONE PAGE ... is offline at this moment, but will be back:
...NARC devotee Aricia 'Gav' has put together a v. attractive site featuring DEATH'S HEAD
and EQUINOX. It's reportedly due for an update featuring SCORPIO, but in the meantime,
if you're new(ish) to Jarrat and Stone this is a good place to start ... and the site looks
fantastic. (Incidentally, before anyone asks, all MK materials there are used by
permission).

...another link whose 'duh factor' is off the scale.

...an online bookstore in the uk; you can get the GMP backlist from this source, but they are
asking (what I consider to be) 'silly prices' for these old titles; and they haven't they listed
any DreamCraft titles (anyone want to ask them why not?!) ... but on the upside, you can still
get the old GMP titles here, albeit used, so what the heck?
RAINBOWSAUCE GAY FIC LIST
...Two of my books are listed on this gay online bookstore, and that's nice. I can't really give
them a comprehensive 'plug' right here, because for
some reason they actively discourage advertising (their banner is tagged 'no hotlinking', which
means they don't want any advertisement and I've respected that. However, they've listed
some of my old GMP titles as available (probably used??), so I'm *listing* their page here,
rather than giving them a 'plug'. I guess, 'take them as you find them' is best advice ... this
*is* one of the last places to get the old editions.
SCIENCE & SPACE NEWS PAGES
...me being science/SF oriented, you'd have to expect this link. Generally good pages for science news,
but if you want something off-the-wall, or something that's politically unpopular in the US, you
might not get what you want here.

...which also speaks for itself, doesn't it? Anyone for rugby?!

If you're looking for the old GMP editions, you could do worse than start at the old GMP
website. I can't guarantee what's available, but remember, 'out of print' means that you
can't get the book at a store, though there could be a box left at the warehouse.
Want to see what the innards of a real, live Hellgate might look like? There are now 866
images on file at The Hubble Site, and they're mind-blowing. They provide me with
constant inspiration.
Here's a fun, interesting (if garish) gay site, with links on to loads of other
web venues ... a fun place to start a net-crawl...
Take a look at 'Keegan's other country' ... this site's pretty comprehensive (duh),
and makes your feet itch to get up and go.
...is a
fantastic source of imagery from 'Keegan's other country.' Tour the state from your chair...
Great gay community website, out of London...
A lot of readers have been waiting for this one: Dave's Blog. Take a deep breath and get ready to
be hopelessly confused ... also amused, and well-fed: the blog has been up for a year or so now, and is
loaded with recipies from Dave's Kitchen, and 'cool parrot pictures' from DreamCraft's backyard. A good time is had by all.
Lesbian novelist Sara Lansing just made the official debut with DreamCraft. Only one novel online at this
time (it's a debut, right? Give 'em time). I just interviewed Sara for the website ... the debut novel
is Windstream, and I've given it the tag-line,'Hard science and hot sex.' It's one hell of a debut.
Here's a special section. Not 'gay site links,' but links
to sites which will take you right into the background of Tiger, Tiger. For those
who are interested in rain forests and the flora and fauna thereof, these are some
v. interesting sites:
The home page of the Tarkine National Coalition. With pictures. It's a great place to start or,
if you were only going to look at one site, look at this one. This also have a good
links page of their own, which makes www.tarkine.org a springboard page.
The Tasmanian Tourist Bureau has a great page on the Tarkine, with a great photo, a pretty good map of the
NW corner of the island, and a click-through link for accommodation in Tas, if you were thinking
of heading down there. As it happens, we are...
Here's the home page of the Wilderness Society. A lovely page with great photos. To the lower
left of your screen as the home page loads is a "Choose location..." dropdown menu. You can pick
from links to all parts of Australia, but if you're interested in the backgrounding for
Tiger, Tiger, you'll want to select Tasmania (third from the bottom). It turns into a
kind of eNewspaper ... and prepare to have your blood run cold.
In the unlikely event you have any interest in Tasmania's blood-drenched history, pull up
the Van Dieman's Land Timeline.
The history of Tas may not be of interest, but this page has a v. good list of links as an 'afterword,' where
a great many aspects of Tas are covered.
If you want to see the 'other side' of the argument regarding logging ...
Have a look at the Gunns website. It's a very pretty
website ... in fact, it's the 'human face' of the company that cuts down rainforests. Hmmm. The jury seems
to be out, still, so this one's your call, guys!
More to come!
